THE OAK ROOM IS SUPPORTING THE WORLD’S LARGEST CHILDREN’S CHRISTMAS PROJECT, OPERATION CHRISTMAS CHILD

This year, The Oak Room is supporting the world’s largest children’s Christmas project, Operation Christmas Child and we need your help!  Nearly 1.2 million shoeboxes of gifts were donated from the UK last year and sent to underprivileged children around the world who would otherwise not receive a present.

If you would like to help, all you need to do is donate a shoebox of gifts for a child, wrap the box and bring it along to The Oak Room.  The appeal is run by a registered charity, Samaritans Purse, which collects, checks and distributes the shoeboxes to disadvantaged children worldwide in time for Christmas.

Before packing your shoebox, please look at the Operation Christmas Child website www.operationchristmaschild.org.uk, for a list of ideas of things to pack and to see which items are not permitted.  You will also need to decide if the shoebox is for a boy or girl, add the appropriate sticker and a £2.50 donation to cover the cost of transportation.  Alternatively, just pop along to The Oak Room and we will give you a leaflet with all the necessary information.

If you would like to brighten up a child’s Christmas, then please bring your filled shoebox (or shoeboxes) along to The Oak Room from 1st– 18th November anytime between 10am – 5pm.  As always, parking and entry to Stable Yard is free via the Georges Gate entrance.  Please spread the word and encourage your friends and family to support the appeal too as each small shoebox really makes a huge difference.

Thank you in advance for your support!
